Gobardhan Peetha Sankaracharya Math

It is believed that the Govardhana Matha was a Buddhist monastery situated inside the capital city of Puri in Odisha state (India). It is part of it's Jagannath temple .The gods here include Jagannath (Lord Vishnu) and the Devi is Vimala (Bhairavi). Mahavakya stands for Prajnana Brahma. There is the Shri Vigraha and Shri Vigraha of Goverdhan Nath Krishna along with Ardhanareshwara Shiva placed by Adi Shankara.
The entire Eastern portion of the Indian subcontinent is considered to be the area of Sri Govardhan Peeth.
This covers all of the Indian States comprising Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh till Rajahmundry, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram along with Uttar Pradesh till Prayag.
The nations of Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan are also considered to be spiritual territories of the Math. Puri, Allahabad, Gaya and Varanasi are among the holy spots in this Math.
